SCHWINN IC2 vs IC3

While browsing online for an indoor cycle, it’s hard to miss the SCHWINN IC2 and IC3 by SCHWINN Fitness. One notable advantage of the IC3 is its handlebar with Fore & aft adjustment, 9-pound heavier flywheel, and its maximum weight capacity. Both the IC2 and IC3 use a perimeter-weighted flywheel with a belt for resistance.

Schwinn is one of the well-known names on the cardio equipment market, and the IC2 is the company’s affordable indoor bike with a 31 lb flywheel.

The Schwinn IC2 is an entry-level indoor cycling bike that has a sturdy frame,  adjustable handlebars/seat,  and an LCD console with basic stats. The IC2’s LCD screen lets you know the workout time, RPM, distance(switchable from miles to KM), speed, and calories burned,  unfortunately, this model does not come with a heart rate monitor so it can’t tell or alert about your heart rate.

There isn’t much to dislike about this bike but if you want to see your heart rate you need to buy a heart rate monitor separately, also the holder on the console is not large enough to fit a large device like a tablet.

Schwinn IC2’s maximum user weight limit is set at 250 lbs, which is 300 lbs for the Schwinn IC3 and 330 lbs for the IC4. We think that the IC2 is a great indoor cycle for any beginner riders. It has a sturdy design, an adjustable seat, and handlebars, with its affordable price makes it a great choice.

The Schwinn IC3 is a mid-range indoor cycle that is both sturdy and perfect for high-intensity training, it offers a smooth drive with its 40 lbs flywheel, dual SPD pedals, and a chest strap compatible console.

While the tech features of the IC3 do not reach the levels of the IC4 it is still a good choice for riders that are not looking for custom workout programs or ability to sync with with fitness apps.

The 3 inches by 4 inches LCD can show time, distance, calories burned, speed, RPM, and heart rate. Unfortunately, though, the bike does not come with a heart rate monitor, you need to buy a compatible one to capture your heart rate.

We like the 300 lbs weight limit and the continuous infinite levels resistance adjustment. So if you want a better indoor cycle than the average, but don’t want to pay lots of money the Schwinn IC3 is the bike that you won’t be disappointed with your decision.
